Totally unexpected and SO inspiring!!
Years ago, my mom had a near-death experience. Remembering that she was a farmer at heart, she was doing her normal activity of pulling weeds in the huge yard at the family cabin. At one point she saw bees go into a hole in the ground and she proceeded to shove a stick in the hole to try to plug it. She was immediately swarmed by bees and was stung so many times that she went into shock. She made it into the house and passed out. Dad was there and called 911. She had to have her heart restarted three times in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. We learned that she had a very serious allergic reaction to the bee stings and was lucky to be alive.
When I saw the Scott Drummands story, I couldn't help but think about Mom. Especially in her later years, she always had a very peaceful way about her and she certainly did not fear death-she told me so. When we lose people in our lives, it is devastating and so sad. It is reassuring to know that those that we have lost, and will lose in the future, will be in a warm, beautiful, and peaceful place.
